Overwatch 2 Season 6 Top Tank Heroes – The Most Successful Heroes in Overwatch 2: Invasion

Here are the Overwatch 2 Season 6 top tank heroes to focus on if you want to win your games easier.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 became available more than a week ago, allowing us to see a lot of games. A lot of people consider this the most important Overwatch 2 update yet, so it’s no surprise that players are excited. Many of them are interested in trying out the newest hero Illari, whereas others are looking for the best heroes to pick in the PVP meta in order to win.

After taking a look at some of the best and worst DPS heroes to get in Overwatch 2: Invasion, it’s time for another analysis. This time, We will take a look at the Overwatch 2 Season 6 top Tank heroes because picking the right tank is extremely important. Tanks are incredibly powerful in the 5v5 meta, so picking the right option can be the difference between winning and losing.

Reinhardt

If we take a look at the win rate of all tanks in Overwatch 2, we can see that one of them is leading the chart. His name is Reinhardt, and according to the data, he’s got around 52.39% win rate, which is not bad when compared to the rest.

Most people expected to see some nerts after the Overwatch 2 Season 6 patch, but Rein was among the heroes that did not receive any changes. Considering he was pretty popular in S5, it’s no surprise that a lot of tank players continue to use him all the time.

The thing that makes Rein really good is the fact that he is good in brawl meta. He can also work pretty well against Dive because of his high damage output. Despite not having any stable range damage, Rein is often the preferred option by players.

There is no arguing that this hero is more popular in the lower-MMR brackets than alongside some of the best in the game. However, you can often see him in the highest skill groups, which is a sign that the hero can be used effectively.

Junker Queen

Overwatch 2 Season 4 Patch Notes

The second spot on the Overwatch 2 Season 6 top tanks list is for Junker Queen, which is probably not a surprise. The hero was pretty much forgotten between S2 and S4, but she got insane buffs in Season 5. As a result, she became one of the most successful heroes in the game and one of the best options. She is hyper-aggressive, works well in pretty much all lineups, and can deal insane amounts of damage.

Even though we expected Junker Queen to receive some kind of nerfs, this was not the case. Overwatch 2: Invasion did not change anything about this hero, meaning she continues to be one of the best options you can get. The data from the past few weeks shows that her win rate is really close to 52%, so she’s definitely one of the best.

The thing to keep in mind about JQ is that many opponents know how to play against her. So, once you decide to pick it, they may go for some of the more annoying setups against this hero, such as Mercy and Pharah. Even though the support got a few nerfs, she continues to have a leading role in the meta and will often be paired alongside some of the damage dealers.

Sigma

The third spot on the list for the Overwatch 2 Season 6 top tanks is for Sigma, the king of Poke combos. Although most people are not picking this that often after the recent nerfs of the likes of Hanzo and Widowmaker, there are some maps where poke can do wonders. Needless to say, Sigma is the best hero you can have in this setup, which is why his win rate is close to 51.64%.

Unlike the two tanks mentioned above, Sigma received some changes in Overwatch 2: Invasion. With that said, instead of changing his abilities, the Overwatch 2 devs decided to change his ground deceleration so that it matches other heroes. This change may seem weird, but it seems like some players were complaining that his movement does not seem natural and his passive skill didn’t work as intended.

Other than that, Sigma remains the same hero in terms of the way he’s played and his capabilities. He can do pretty good damage and has the ability to disable enemy heroes long enough for his long-ranged DPS allies to score kills.

Ramattra

Last but not least, we have Ramattra, the hero who has been ripping through the Overwatch 2 skill groups in the last couple of weeks. Ramattra’s damage output is almost as high as a DPS hero, especially when he uses his ultimate. Consequently, people from all skill brackets started spamming him, which is why the hero’s current win rate is around 51.50%.

Considering this was one of the most powerful heroes in the previous patch, it should not be a surprise Ramattra received some nerfs. Following the changes for Overwatch 2 Season 6, the hero’s Annihilation now costs 12% more, meaning he has to do more damage before having his ult ready. The good news is that Ramattra’s Block in Nemesis and Annihilation for now reduces damage from stuck projectiles. This will make him a bit harder to kill than before, which is always a plus.

Honorable mentions

When talking about the best tanks to go for in Overwatch 2: Invasion and checking the recent updates, we can see that D.Va stands out. She’s always been a solid option in many situations, but now that her Boosters have a 3.5s cooldown instead of 4s and Eject Mech is invulnerable for 0.4s while ejecting makes her a very dangerous hero to have.

Doomfirst is also in an interesting place because of the many buffs, but the hero is not as strong as the rest. Furthermore, he is a bit harder to master, which is why some players prefer to focus on other options.
