Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS Tier List – What To Pick?

Overwatch 2 Season 7 arrived a couple of days ago, so let’s learn more about the DPS tier list and see which heroes to get.

Whether you are DPS, Support, or Tank player, there’s no arguing Overwatch 2 Season 7 will get you excited. The new update brought tons of different hero and map changes, as well as the addition of a completely new map. Following the success of S6, S7 looks very interesting, so we can’t wait to see how it will turn out.

Considering that the new season arrived just a few days ago, a lot of people are not exactly sure which heroes to get. That’s why the first article of this series will be the Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS Tier list, where we will rank the best and worst heroes to get. Although all DPS heroes could work in certain situations, some are much more efficient, so let’s dive in.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS Tier List – S-Tier

The S-Tier heroes are the best in Overwatch 2 Season 7 and are excellent options to rank up.

Sojourn

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Sojourn in the S-tier, but she is finally where she belongs. The hero is great in pretty much every situation, especially against the big tanks in the meta, such as Ramattra. Of course, her Railgun shots are also incredibly dangerous as long as she lands them.

Bastion

Blizzard made sure Bastion will remain one of the best heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 7, so it’s no surprise he is in the S-tier. The hero is insanely strong in many instances, especially when it comes down to DPS. He is good against everything, especially when used alongside Sombra.

A-Tier

When discussing the Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS tier list, the A-Tier heroes are good options in any match.

Soldier: 76

Soldier’s a pretty solid option in any meta, and Overwatch 2 Season 7 isn’t an exception. He can do a lot of damage and has good mobility. That said, he is not that strong against Sombra, which is why he is in the A-Tier, not the S-Tier.

Torbjorn

Despite the fact that Torb received 2 nerfs, he continues to be a lot stronger than people think. He is really good in many setups and is easy to pick up and start winning. That’s why we believe he is a solid pick in Overwatch 2 Season 7

Sombra

Sombra received a complete rework and became a much stronger hero. We expect her to move to the S-Tier in the future because she will be the go-to pick. Although her ult is not as good as before, everything else is solid.

B-Tier

The heroes here work in almost all setups, but they have some weaknesses.

Symmetra

Sym’s ability to do plenty of damage and TP her allies when needed make her an excellent option in a brawl setup. She may not be the most popular hero, but she works well in a variety of situations.

Ashe

Ashe’s one of the interesting names on the Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS tier list because she works in many setups. However, the hero is not good against the aggressive dive setups, which is why she’s in the B-Tier.

Genji

Geni is great against pretty much anything other than Sombra. Since the latter is vital right now, we had to put him in the C tier.

C-Tier

The heroes in the C-Tier are good but can not work in every setup and map. Interestingly, they include some of the most popular heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 7.

Hanzo

Hanzo can work on several maps and has a lot of potential to do damage. He is not that good against diving, but his one-shot capabilities make him a solid option.

Echo

Echo has been one of the most underrated heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 7, but she can be a nightmare to play against. Despite being strong, Echo can be an easy target for people who don’t know how to play properly. That’s the reason why she is in the C-Tier

Tracer

Some people may argue that Tracer should be in the B-tier, but we disagree. Overwatch 2 Season 7 is not as good as S6 for Tracer because Sombra is much stronger now.

Cassidy

Cassidy received a critical buff in Season 7 that increased his damage reduction when rolling. It may not seem as much, but it made the hero strong against dive setups. He could even be in the B-tier, but it depends on the map and who is playing.

D-Tier

When talking about the D-Tier, this is where heroes are not as strong as before but can be good in some particular setups. Most of the names you will see on this Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS tier list are too hard to pull off, so most people choose other options.

Junkrat

Although some people may want to put this hero in the F-Tier, Junkrat’s damage output could work on some maps with a lot of chokepoints. Sadly, the hero’s spam damage is not that good right now because there’s a lot of passive healing. Moreover, Junkrat is squishy, and aggressive opponents can run him down.

Mei

When discussing the Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS Tier list, Mei received interesting changes that increased her damage. Although we expected the new buffs to make the hero much stronger, the reality was different. Mei is just not that good and can only work in some situations.

Widowmaker

The good-old Widowmaker can be an exciting pick in Overwatch 2 Season 7, but only on certain maps and only when there are Sigma and Hanzo in the game. Widow is one of the heroes that can be incredibly strong in the right hands, but since Sombra is pretty big right now, she’s just not worth it.

F-Tier

The Overwatch 2 Season 7 DPS Tier list concludes with the heroes in the F-Tier. Needless to say, those heroes are not the best right now and will only work in very specific scenarios. Therefore, most players will probably choose to avoid them.

Pharah

It’s no surprise that Pharah is on the list because she has always been a relatively tricky DPS to make the most of. Some fans expected to see a lot of changes to the hero in Overwatch 2 Season 7, but this was not the case.

Judging from the first couple of days after the new season's arrival, Pharah can work, but only when she is with Mercy. If the support is not in the game, or she’s not helping the DPS, Pharah is not good and will die fast.

Reaper

Reaper has been in a weird position throughout 2023, and Overwatch 2 Season 7 does not change that. The hero can be a solid pick on maps where he can come close to the enemy’s backlines and kill them. However, he remains an easy target for some of the hot DPS picks in the current season, so you should only pick him in specific scenarios.
