Overwatch 2 Least Successful DPS Heroes in Season 6 So Far

These are the least successful DPS heroes in Season 6 so far.

After covering some of the best DPS heroes to get in Overwatch 2: Invasion, it’s time to take a look at the names that you should avoid using. Season 6 of Overwatch 2 arrived just a few days ago, and with it, players got access to tons of new things. Naturally, most fans will be interested in learning about the new hero, which is why we have a separate Overwatch 2 Illari guide that goes through everything.

A lot of players are interested in using the best heroes, but others also want to know which names to avoid. Even though the Overwatch 2 least successful DPS heroes in Season 6 can work in some situations, their stats clearly show that others are better. So, let’s learn more information about them. Keep in mind that the stats here are from Competitive play and focus only on PC players. People who like playing Overwatch 2 on a console may have other results.

Cassidy

Judging from the stats following the first couple of days of the arrival of Overwatch 2 Season 6, Cassidy is the least successful hero in the game. His stats are around 44%, which may not surprise some of you. If you remember, Cassidy was insanely strong before the nerfs in Season 5. He was the go-to option and one of the best heroes in the game because of his Magnetic Grenade. Sadly, this didn’t last long because Blizzard decided to nerf this ability, as well as other aspects of the hero.

With that said, Overwatch 2: Invasion hasn’t been out for that long, so we may see some changes n the hero’s win rate. After the Overwatch 2 Season 6 update, Cassidy received a few buffs, such as the one to his base HP, which is 225 instead of 200. Magnetic Grenade’s maximum travel time is 1.5s, but the ability will only slow down enemy units by 25%. What’s interesting is that the projectile has a maximum travel time of 1.5s. Lastly, Peacekeeper’s damage falloff range is 25-35 instead of 25-45.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 - Hero and Map Updates

Even though Cassidy is one of the Overwatch 2 least successful DPS heroes in Season 6 so far, according to the devs, these changes should help him solidify his close to mid-range potential.

Bastion

If there’s one name on the list of the Overwatch 2 least successful DPS heroes in Season 6 that most people are not surprised by,  it must be Bastion. Even though Overwatch 2 should have changed the hero from the ground up and made him a viable option, this hasn’t been the case. Bastion is the hero that went through the most changes in the last year, but he continues to be an option that only works in some instances.

If we take a look at the Overwatch 2: Invasion stats, we can see that Bastion has a 44.6% win rate, making him the second-worst. One of the reasons why this win rate could increase a bit in the next couple of weeks is because of the many changes. Speaking of the devil, Bastion‘s Tactical Grenade and all configurations got buffed and are much stronger than before. We just have to wait and see if they will be enough to return the hero to the map.

Mei

Overwatch 2 Genji Counters

Although Mei is a lot more popular than Bastion in Overwatch 2, she’s also one of the heroes that has had problems with her identity. Initially, the hero was all about CC and utility, but the devs allowed her to do more damage. Although this worked up to a point, nowadays, Mei is one of the Overwatch 2 Season 6 least successful DPS heroes.

According to the stats, Mei’s win rate is a hair over 45%, meaning she’s almost as bad as Bastion. However, thanks to her strong ultimate and ability to do a lot of damage at a close range, she can work better in various situations.

In terms of the changes following the Season 6 of Overwatch 2, Mei did not get anything new for competitive play. However, people who decide to try out the new game modes and PvE will have an increased fire rate of 100 instead of 50. This will make Mei very strong because she will have insane bursts of damage.

Sojourn

After dominating all skill brackets, Sojourn finally stepped down as one of the best DPS heroes in Overwatch 2. Even though she continues to be a solid option in the highest-skill group, the hero is nowhere near as powerful as she was before. Since her win rate around 45.32%, it’s no surprise she’s one of the weakest Overwatch 2 Season 6 DPS heroes right now.

If we take a look at the changelog after the arrival of the new patch, we can see that Sojourn has not experienced any specific changes. The hero remains the same as in Season 5, which means that she will only work in the hands of those who can land their Railgun shots. Even though this weapon is potent, it seems like some people prefer to focus on other heroes that are easier to play.

Sombra

Overwatch 2 hero Sombra holds a purple sphere of energy.

Finally, we have a name that’s always been one of the Overwatch 2 least successful DPS heroes, except for when OW 2 became available. Sombra used to be the best in the world, but nowadays, the hero does not do much against most opponents. She’s a niche hero that could work in specific lineups or when she needs to counter a specific hero, but her 45.40% win rate proves that she’s just not worth it.

Even though we expected to see a complete rework of some of her abilities, Overwatch 2: Invasion brought even more nerfs. After the changes, EMP now costs 15% more, and it no longer destroyers Lifeweaver’s Tree of Life. This limits Sombra even more, so it’s hard to justify her pick when there are other DPS heroes that do way more damage and work better in different setups.
