The Heroes to Avoid in Overwatch 2 Season 6

Here’s a list of heroes you need to avoid in Overwatch 2 Season 6 right now

Even though Season 6 of Overwatch 2 is probably the most interesting one yet because of many reasons, it doesn’t mean hat all heroes are the same. We’ve already revealed how to win Flashpoint maps and a lot of other things about the new season, but now, it’s time to focus on the heroes to avoid in Overwatch 2 Season 6.

Even though the names you are about to see will work under specific circumstances, usually, they are just not worth it. Some of them are strong, but they are too complex, and it’s just not worth it because others achieve the same results much easier. Of course, you can also come across Overwatch 2 heroes that are just not as strong as you may think.

Do not target that you can learn how to counter the meta heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 6 and use these tactics no matter which heroes you are playing. Nevertheless, the names you are about to come across are just not that good, so it’s best to avoid them and focus on something else.

Roadhog

hog-ow2

A lot of people are sad to see Roadhog being the worst hero in Overwatch 2 Season 6, but that’s the reality. If there is one hero to avoid picking in Overwatch 2 Season 6, it has to be Hoag because the hero is just not good.

The many nerfs that took place to his Chain Hook a few updates before made him almost feel useless. He has no mobility and pretty much no damage outside if there are really close encounters. Moreover, the hero is an easy target and one of the best opponents to have as a DPS because it allows you to gain more ultimate charges.

An interesting thing about Roadhog is that Blizzard said he will undergo a massive change. In fact, we expected this to take place in Season 6, but it seems like the devs decided we have to wait.

Another key factor we need to remember is that the current meta is not that good for Hog. As we’ve mentioned in our articles before, Orisa is the go-to tank in Overwatch 2, and it happens to be the hero that deals really well with Hog. In other words, this is a tank that’s just not good.

Cassidy

Overwatch 2 confirmed season 5 hero change

The second hero to avoid in Overwatch 2 Season 6 will definitely surprise some people, especially if they’ve read the patch. Cassidy is one of the DPS in Overwatch 2 that received buffs in Season 6 following the many nerfs he got in Season 5. A lot of us expected those things to have a positive effect on the hero, but the reality was different.

In season 6, Cassidy received a buff to his HP, which is now back at 225, as it’s always been. Furthermore, Magnetic Grenade now has a 1.5s maximum travel time, and it slows down enemies by 25%.

Unfortunately, it’s not all good news for the hero because his Peacekeeper got nerfed. This, combined with the weird Magnetic Grenade that not a lot of people are used to, makes him one of the worst DPS heroes right now.

The hero can work in certain situations because he is still a good damage dealer in mid-range, but he’s not as efficient as before. The problem is that he is just not that good when you compare them to some of the other DPS. Cassidy does not have that much mobility like other heroes, and his damage output is not as good as it was. As a result, a lot of Overwatch 2 players prefer to choose something else.

Wrecking Ball

Wrecking Ball is also on the list of heroes to Avoid in Season 6 because he has a lot of issues you need to be aware of. To be honest, this is a tank that can work in certain situations, and it can be used by people who know what they’re doing. The bad news is that the majority of people aren’t in such a state, so users may encounter different problems.

Wrecking Ball is not good against targets that have CC because he can’t be all over the place and do damage, something that he’s good at. This, combined with the fact that the meta is not good for him, makes him one of the weakest heroes in the game right now.

Even though Ball is in a way better state than the three heroes mentioned earlier, he is too complex and requires a lot of things to succeed. So, unless you are a really good ball player and know how to make the most of the hero, it’s better to avoid him and focus on something else.

Sombra

Overwatch 2 hero Sombra holds a purple sphere of energy.

In addition to being one of the least interesting heroes to play in Overwatch 2 Season 6 right now (normally, she’s really fun), Sombra is also one of the worst meta-heroes to get. Consequently, a lot of people think this is one of the heroes to avoid in Overwatch 2 Season 6.

Sombra is a very niche hero, and she can work well in some instances. However, if we put aside her ultimate (which received a few nerfs), we can see that she does not provide that much value. The hero is incredibly squishy, her damage output is not great, and he has a hard time dealing with the meta supports. Heroes like Brigitte can easily 1v1 the annoying DPS.

The only way to make use of Sombra in the current meta is if you are extremely good with the hero. We can see that certain players focus a lot on the hero, but if you compare her to some of the meta DPS, we see that she’s not that good.
