Here is what you need to know about the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event that will become available soon.

Overwatch is one of Blizzard’s most interesting games that first became available around 7 years ago. Even though it has been controversial because people have been complaining a lot, there’s no arguing that the game is unique.

If you’ve played Overwatch 2 before, you probably remember that there have been a lot of events in our favorite game. Some have celebrated holidays and the lore in Overwatch, whereas others focus on specific things. With that said, the Overwatch Anniversary event has always been one of the most interesting ones because it offers a lot of things. Usually, this thing will allow people to experience what the game was like through the years,

Considering that Overwatch 2 became available last year, this will be the first Overwatch 2 Anniversary event we will have. People expect a lot from it because it should include interesting options, so let’s learn more about everything.

Will there be an Overwatch 2 Anniversary event?

Yes, there will be an Overwatch 2 Anniversary event, even though a lot of people thought that we wouldn’t see such a thing. Considering the fact that this thing has been celebrated for years, we are not surprised that Blizzard decided to host it again. If everything goes according to plan, the competition will take place on September 19, just a few days from now.

The bad news about the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event is that we do not have enough information about it. We’re not quite sure what we can expect from it, but judging from what we’ve seen in the previous years, we expect to find different kinds of throwback events.

With that said, it will be very interesting to see if this event will focus only on Overwatch 2 or if it will include some things from Overwatch. Blizzard considered this to be a new game, but in reality, most people think of it as an expansion.

As mentioned earlier, unless something drastic happens, we expect this tournament to begin on September 19. This date may seem strange to some people because the previous competitions usually began around May 24 because the latter was when this game became available. However, Blizzard wants to host this event as close to Overwatch 2’s release date as possible, which is why it was moved to late September. Remember that the original release date of Overwatch 2 is October 4.

Some people interested in the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event may wonder why it will not take place on the game’s release date, and the answer is because of another event – Halloween. The latter has always been one of the most interesting things about our favorite game because we get tons of skins and other cool stuff. Therefore, Blizzard decided that it’s not worth overlapping the two events, which is why the Anniversary one will take place around a month before that.

If we look at this competition from a couple of years ago, we can see tons of different content we can expect to find this year. For example, the famous Lucio Ball was a very popular model that people enjoyed. The same applies to Junkenstein and a few other events that we expect to see again.  That said, the same events will happen again because fans like them a lot.

Of course, since this will be the first Overwatch 2 Anniversary event, we expect to see a lot of new things. No one can predict the future, but it is highly likely to see something that involves all of the new Overwatch 2 heroes so far – Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Illari, and Lifeweaver.
