The Florida Mayhem 2023 OWL Playoffs didn't start off so dominant and aggressive. A lot of strategy had to be build off of the first games on this new patch.

“Well we start off anticipating what they'll bring out, and then we bring out what we think will be the counter comp to that. If that doesn't work out then we kind of fall back on playing to our strengths.”

“As I've always said, I think we have a wider and deeper hero pool than most if not all teams. On top of that, we're also the best at maximizing the value of each hero pick we decide on. Whether it's us playing a counter-comp or just playing to our own strengths, we'll always have the edge on mastery of our comps and heroes, so we're not really too fussed about what direction we take on that front.”
How prepared do you feel you are against these Eastern teams? How much practice did you get against them, and how prepared do you feel you are to take them on?

“Honestly, we didn't really prep for APAC. The only thing we were kind of thinking about was Dallas because they have a very strong Zarya player, but even then it was a very minuscule amount of worrying and prep.”

“We're not looking down on APAC. We don't think they're bad at all. You know, we clinched a spot straight to Toronto (playoffs) so we had a bit of buffer time to watch them and watch their play-in matches. Compared to the matches in NA that we've seen all season the performances they show don't really seem as strong, so we thought if we can beat every NA team then the trophy is ours, so we definitely focused a lot more on NA.”
