Worlds 2023: All Teams Qualified for the 2023 LoL World Championship

Worlds 2023 is kicking off at the beginning of October, but which teams can we root for in the last event of 2023?

The League of Legends World Championship is the pinnacle of Riot Games’ hit MOBA’s competitive scene, gathering all the best teams in the world to compete and decide who is the absolute master of LoL. This year, Worlds will be held in South Korea among various venues, broadcasted in several languages and on multiple channels so every fan can get the most out of every match of the Worlds this year.

There will be 22 teams competing for the title of League of Legends World Champion coming from 9 different regions, and the stakes are incredibly high. But which teams are the ones that we can cheer on between October 10th and November 19th?

    • 4 Teams qualify from the Korean Championship: the LCK Summer Champion, The Regional Finals Winner and Runner-Up and the best team based on Championship Points:

    • At this event, the 4th placed LEC and LCS teams clash in North America to decide who will get the last spot of Worlds:

Worlds 2023: The Format

The 2023 World Championship will be divided into two parts:

  • Stage 1 – The Play-Ins:
    • The PCS, VCS, LJL, CBLOL, LLA and Worlds Qualifying Series winner will participate in this Stage.
    • The 8 teams will be divided into two groups featuring an Elimination Bracket
    • The participants will face each other in Best-of-Three matches
    • The Winners of Upper Bracket will face the Winners of the other Groups Lower Bracket in Best-of-Five matches, with the winners advancing to Stage2.
  • Stage 2 – The Swiss Stage:
    • 16 Teams will face each other in a Swiss style format with 5 rounds,
    • The teams that get 3 wins will proceed to Stage 3, while the teams with 3 losses get eliminated
      • Matches that are played for Qualification or Elimination will be Bo3’s, all other matches will be Bo1’s
  • Stage 3 – The Knockout Stage:
    • 8 teams participate
    • They play in a Single Elimination Bracket with Best-of-Five matches, until only one team is left standing!
