Overwatch 2 Season 5 Ultimates – From Best to Worst

Here are some of the best and worst ultimates in Overwatch 2 Season 5.

We are a few weeks in after the arrival of Overwatch 2 Season 5, and not that many things have changed since Season 4. After covering some of the best duos you can use, it is time to take a good look at the current state of each ultimate. Some cults are a lot stronger than others, so let’s learn more about them. We will also rate them on a 1/10 scale.

Roadhog – 8/10

Even though this is not the most popular hero in Overwatch 2 Season 5 right now, there is no arguing Hog’s ultimate is pretty impressive. It can deal a lot of damage and push enemies back, which can work in this meta against dive combos with Ramattra and other opponents.

Hanzo – 6/10

How to Play Hanzo

Albeit having one of the coolest animations, Hanzo’s ultimate is not that useful unless enemies make a mistake or there is a Zarya on his team. However, it could work in some situations, so it all depends on the setup.

Mei – 9/10

Overwatch 2 Genji Counters

Mei’s ultimate is good enough to win almost any team fight. It is almost impossible to lose a fight with it, making it among the best options for Overwatch 2 Season 5. Just remember that you don’t need to trap 5 heroes to be effective.

Genji – 7/10

The Overwatch hero Genji, a cybernetic ninja

Genji’s sword can easily be the most devastating ultimate in the game. However, since the hero is hard to master and does not work in all setups in Overwatch 2 Season 5, we’ll give it a slightly lower rating.

Kiriko – 9/10

kiriko-ow2

When talking about the Overwatch 2 Season 5 ultimates, Kiriko’s ults are among the top options. It unlocks the potential of almost any hero on her team, so it’s something that you should pay attention to.

Reinhardt – 7/10

Rein ultimate is powerful in Season 5 of Overwatch 2, but only if he plays against specific enemies. There are combos where it does not do much.

Cassidy – 4/10

Although it looks cool, landing a Deadeye is really hard because enemies will almost always dodge it. Nevertheless, you can make some sick plays if you are playing against enemies that don’t.

Pharah – 6/10

The hero Pharah from Blizzard's Overwatch franchise

Depending on your rank in Overwatch 2, this can be one of the better ultimates in Season 5. However, it all depends on the enemy heroes because some can kill Pharah quickly.

Widowmaker – 7/10

widowmaker

Widow’s ultimate is always good, no matter the patch. It provides a lot of information and allows Widow to do some sick headshots.

Zarya – 8/10

Overwatch 2 Genji Counters

Despite the fact that this is not the most popular hero in the game right now, Zarya’s ultimate can be game-winning. The only problem is that the ult may no feel that strong if the enemy heroes are not stacking up.

Lucio – 8/10

Lucio’s ultimate can save lives or allow his team to push and take a point. However, since it is possible to make mistakes when casting it, we’ll give it a slightly lower rating.

Moira – 9/10

owmoira

Despite the nerfs, Moira’s ult remains one of the best options in Overwatch 2 Season 5. She can do tons of damage and heal her enemies simultaneously, and the hero becomes a lot harder to kill.

Ramattra – 10/10

Ramattra’s one of the best heroes in Season 5 and probably has the best ultimate in the game. When popped, the hero just wins fights.

Reaper – 7/10

Reapers Code of Violence will start at Overwatch on February 22nd 2018

Even though Reaper is just not that good in the current meta, the hero’s ultimate can work in some instances. Yet, it really depends on the enemy lineup.

Orisa – 5/10

Even though this Overwatch 2 Season 5 ultimate has one of the best animations, the ult is not that good. It is hard to set up and enemy heroes can always escape.

Junkrat – 9/10

Overwatch 2 Season 4 Patch Notes

Junkrat’s damage output with his ultimate is one of the highest in the game. He may not be the go-to option in the current meta, but his ultimate can be game-changing.

Ana – 9/10

Ana’s ult is always a powerful tool when used on the right player. For example, a lot of people focus on the “Nanoblade ‘combo with Genji because it allows the latter to do a lot of damage.

Bastion – 7/10

Bastion’s ult is not that bad when compared to other Overwatch 2 Season 5 DPS heroes. However, it is not that good either because the hero is just not worth picking in the current meta.

Doomfirst – 8/10

Doomfists’s ultimate is pretty solid, and since the hero is popular in the meta, you get to see it a lot.

Mercy – 9/10

Overwatch 2 Mercy Guide

There is not much to say about Mercy and her Overwatch 2 Season 5 Ultimate. It is one of those “evergreen” abilities that works exceptionally well in many scenarios.

Echo – 7/10

Overwatch 2 Season 4 Patch Notes

Echo’s ultimate used to be a lot better before, but now, it doesn’t deserve the maximum rating. Still, it can be pretty good in the hands of people who know how to play.

Sombra – 8/10

Sombra’s ultimate is the only good trying about the hero, but even it is not enough to put her back in the game.

Tracer – 6/10

The hero Tracer from Overwatch

Although Tracer is one of the best DPS in the current meta, it’s not because of her ultimate. Nevertheless, it can do a lot of damage against some opponents, so it really depends on the lineup.

Lifeweaver – 8/10

A lot of Overwatch 2 Season 5 players are not sure how to play against Lifeweaver’s ultimate yet, which is why it feels slightly more robust than it actually is.

Soldier: 76 – 8/10

Soldier 76

Soldier’s ultimate is great, as long as there there are no barriers and other things that can block it.

Sojourn – 7/10

overwatch 2 sojourn-wallpaper

The reason why we’re giving Sojourn a 7 is because of how hard it is to hit your Railgun shots. People who know what they’re doing can easily make this ult feel like a 10, especially in Overwatch 2 Season 5.

Brigitte – 7/10

brigitte

Brig’s ult can work in some lineups, but it usually depends on the heroes she has to face. The ult works really well against aggressive players.

Ashe – 9/10

ashe-overwatch-wallpaper

Unless an Ana or something else can disable BOB, the latter is extremely strong in the current meta. No wonder you see Ashe a lot more often than before.

Winston – 8/10

This is probably one of the more interesting ultimates in the game that can work in some instances. Keep in mind Winston is a pretty popular pick in the current meta, especially if he’s paired with a few specific heroes.

Zenyatta – 9/10

All Overwatch 2 Voice Actors - Kenyatta

Zen’s ultimate has always been one of the best in the game, and Overwatch 2 Season 5 is not an exception. The hero can keep his team alive long enough for them to win a fight.

Symettra 8/10

Symettra’s wall is amazing, but not everyone knows how to use it properly. People who know how to make the most of it can win fights with little to no effort.

Baptiste – 7/10

Baptiste Overwatch

Baptiste’s ultimate can be a solid option, but only when he’s playing alongside specific heroes. Needless to say, this is not an option that works with everything.

Sigma – 8/10

The Overwatch hero Sigma stands in his high-powered armor, his hyperspheres hovering above his outstretched palm

Sigma’s ult itself may not feel that strong, but it enables a lot of other heroes to do more damage. He’s the king of poke combos, so it’s an option you should take into account.

Wrecking Ball – 5/10

Ball’s ultimate can feel exceptionally strong or useless, depending on how and when you use it. Due to its inconsistency, we’ll give it a slightly lower rating.

D.Va – 6/10

dva overwatch school girl

D.Va’s ult always worked well, but only against enemies who’re not quite sure what to do against it. It doesn’t really do much against good players who can easily dodge the damage.

Junker Queen – 8/10

Overwatch 2 Junker Queen Season 4 Patch Notes

JQ’s ultimate is a solid option in Overwatch 2 Season 5, especially if the enemies are grouped up. However, it does not do that much versus people who know how to play against it.

Torb – 6/10

Molten Core can be a good option, but only on some maps and with certain combos. Other than that, the ultimate does not do much.
