Apeks Primed to Battle at IEM Sydney

Apeks have clinched one of the remaining IEM Sydney 2023 spots via European closed qualifiers

Apeks battled their way through the IEM Sydney 2023 European Closed Qualifiers, emerging triumphant with three consecutive victories in the upper bracket. The Norwegian side’s impressive performance secured them a well-deserved spot at IEM Sydney, where they will play against some of the best teams in the world.

How Did Apeks Qualify for IEM Sydney?

The path to IEM Sydney was far from easy for Apeks. They went head-to-head with knasigT in a marathon match spanning three overtimes and two maps. Against BetBoom, they rallied from a series deficit and a 6-10 map score to emerge victorious. Apeks then fought back from a 9-14 deficit against 9INE, making sure they will be flying to the Emerald City later this year.
Apeks owed a significant part of their success to the outstanding performances of Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad. Throughout the qualifiers, his performance remained unparalleled, boasting an average rating of 1.32. His mastery proved to be the driving force behind the team's success at every step.
