Counter-Strike Legends That Could Make a Comeback For CS 2

Here are some of the Counter-Strike legends that could make a comeback in CS2.

Considering that Counter-Strike 2 is a game that has been around for ages, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen tons of legendary players over the years. Starting with CS 1.6, many of the best players back then switched to CSGO, where they’ve spent many years. Some have decided to step down from the competitive scene for good, whereas others moved to a coaching position or even created their own organizations.

Now that Valve is about to release Counter-Strike 2, many players expect some of the old-school superstars to make a return to the professional scene. Some names you are about to see haven’t been active for years, so it’s unlikely to see them back. However, others have kept playing casually and even live stream for a living. Therefore, it might be just a matter of time before the Counter-Strike legends start playing again in CS 2.

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

The first player that all of us would want to see in action once again is none other than f0rest. We are pretty sure that every Counter-Strike player over the years knows about f0rest because he was one of the best in the world. He is undoubtedly one of the Counter-Strike legends because he’s been a part of the game since 2003.

Even though most people will remember him for his CS 1.6 results, f0rest was also extremely successful in CS:GO. He spent more than 8 years with Ninjas in Pyjamas and won almost everything in the process. After leaving the squad in 2020, the Swedish superstar became a part of Dignitas, where he played for another 2 years. Sadly, he has been on the inactive roster since mid-2022.

What’s interesting about f0rest is that he never actually stopped playing because he became a full-time Twitch streamer. A few weeks ago, the Swedish living legend said he would be happy to return to the professional CS stage. However, no one has offered him the opportunity to play again. In other words, the player will have to wait and see if a given club will want to invite him to play.

Considering that f0rest is among the living Counter-Strike legends and the fact that he’s been around for ages, we can see why some teams would want him on their team. He is one of the best aimers in the world, so we can’t wait to see him in action in Counter-Strike 2.

Filip “NEO” Kubski

When talking about Counter-Strike legends and aimers, one name will always show up and that’s NEO. There is no arguing that the Polish superstar is one of the best players in the world, and he has proven it countless times in the last more than 23 years.

Neo’s jaw-dropping career began in 2000 when he played for a team called STER-Prokekt. Over the years. NEO was a part of many world-class CS 1.6 teams, including the legendary Meet Your Makers.

In CSGO, Filip played for the links of Virtus.Pro, as well as HONORIS. In fact, this was his last team, which he played for almost 7 months before being moved to the Substitute position.

Since July of 2023, NEO is FaZe Clan’s interim coach, but considering he was active a few months ago, we expect to see this Counter-Strike legend back in action for CS2. A few months ago, he was spotted playing the game with the likes of TaZ, GeT_RiGhT, and other big names in CS, which is a good sign. There is no arguing that NEO has a lot to bring to the table, so we expect to see the big start back where he belongs.

Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund

Of course, it’s impossible to make a list of the Counter-Strike legends that we would like to see in CS2 and not include GeT_RiGhT. The Swedish star has always been one of the icons of this franchise and for a good reason.

Although he started his career in 2007 (almost 7 years later than NEO), he quickly rose to the top. During his career, GeT_RiGhT played for all of the top teams in the world, including SK Gaming, Fnatic, and Ninjas in Pyjamas in CS:GO. Like f0rest, he spent many years with the club before moving to Dignitas.

Since August of 2022, GeT_RiGhT has been officially a streamer for the organization, which means he is playing casually. However, we expect this to change with the arrival of CS 2 because Christopher has said many times that he would be more than happy to be back in action.

It’s safe to say that all CS 2 fans will be more than happy to see GeT_RiGhT and f0rest back in the game playing under the same banner. Even though this is not likely to happen, it will be interesting to see what’s going to happen.

Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson

The last name on the list that we think could make a comeback for Counter-Strike 2 is olofmeister. Unlike the other Counter-Strike legends mentioned so far, he made a name for himself in CS:GO, when he joined H2k. However, most people will remember him for the years he spent with Fnatic and FaZe Clan.

What’s interesting about FaZe Clan is that he became an inactive member a total of 5 times, and the last one was in January of 2022. During his prime, Fnatic and FaZe Clan were among the best in the world and won almost every Counter-Strike tournament.

Olofmeister is the type of player who is serious about what he does. Therefore, if he is to return to CS 2, he will either play for a newly formed team or decide to compete for a squad that’s been around for many years. That said, we do not have any information as to whether he would be interested in returning to Counter-Strike 2, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
