Astralis have confirmed that Benjamin “blameF” Bremer has agreed to extend his contract with the team until the end of 2025. After joining Astralis in November 2021, the rifler now holds the distinction of being the team's longest-serving member, ahead of Nicolai “device” Reedtz.

In a recent turn of events, blameF took on the mantle of captaincy for his team. This leadership transition occurred following a substantial reshuffle during the off-season, which brought about notable changes within the Astralis lineup.

One of the significant shifts during this period was the decision to bench Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, a seasoned veteran and former captain himself. Additionally, the team's composition was enriched by the inclusion of two new talents: Johannes “b0RUP” Borup and Victor “Staehr” Staehr. These fresh acquisitions not only injected new blood into the lineup but also introduced new dynamics and strategies to the team's gameplay.

At first, they secured a coveted spot in the prestigious BLAST Premier Fall Final. Astralis then made waves at IEM Cologne, one of the most prestigious events on the esports calendar. There, they demonstrated their mettle by securing a top-four finish. Most recently, clinched a playoff berth in ESL Pro League Season 18 after finishing third in Group A.

In addition, blameF remains a force to be reckoned with despite acknowledging to HLTV that his shift to captaincy would impact his personal performance. Over the past three months, the 26-year-old has consistently excelled as the team's standout player, boasting an impressive 1.25 rating and only experiencing a negative rating in three maps during that period.
