Shroud Explains Why CS2 Is Easier To Play Than CSGO

CSGO-turned-Valorant pro Michael “shroud” Grzesiek has identified one major change that makes CS2 significantly easier to play than its predecessor

After an excruciating six-month wait, the highly anticipated release of Counter-Strike 2 finally seems to be upon us. Gamers around the world have marked September 27 on their calendars with eager anticipation. As the launch date approaches, the renowned gamer and streamer shroud has offered some insightful commentary on why Counter-Strike 2 appears to be a more accessible and user-friendly experience compared to its predecessor, CSGO.

The gaming community has been buzzing with excitement ever since the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, and fans are preparing themselves for an entirely new era in competitive first-person shooting. Shroud, who has four years of professional Counter-Strike experience under his belt, has delved into the nuances of the game, shedding light on what sets it apart from its predecessor.

Why Does Shroud Believe CS2 Is Easier To Play Than CS?

In a recent livestream, the prominent content creator took some time to share his candid thoughts about Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). According to his perspective, CS2 appears to be approximately 10 percent less challenging compared to its predecessor, CSGO. The critical differentiator, however, in his view, is not necessarily a matter of gameplay mechanics but rather the game's functionality as a whole.

“It’s [CS2] easier than CSGO. […] I would say like, you know, 10 percent, maybe. 10 percent easier than CSGO. But that could just be because the game actually works and CSGO didn’t. You know what I mean? There’s a chance that that’s why. CSGO is so fucking broken. You’re literally just… bullets don’t exist in that game,” the 29-year-old said.

In response to his remarks about CS2, the comments section became a battleground for contrasting views within the gaming community. While some viewers appreciated his insights and deemed them insightful, there was a vocal segment of players who strongly disagreed with his perspective. These dissenting voices criticized shroud's take on CS2, asserting that his understanding of the game was incomplete and, in some instances, categorizing his opinion as fundamentally flawed.
