Spyro Mystery of the Dragon release dates leaked, rumours related to Spyro 4.

The last update of the beloved game Spyro was in 2018 with the release of “Spyro Reignited Trilogy”. This included remasters of the original games on the PlayStation from 1998 to 2000. However, Insomniac is yet to release any original Spyro games since The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon since 2008. Has the wait for a new adventure in the Spyro world finally ended?

Rumours of the New Spyro Game in 2023

The earliest rumours of Insomniac releasing a new Spyro game were sparked in January of 2023 when @ToysForBob tweeted “Big moves and BIG MOOD for 2023 #LifeatTFB” with an image of several games attached. The picture included Spyro the Dragon. Fans quickly took this as an indication that a new game edition might be in the making.

Since January this year, the rumour has popped up on several Reddit threads and game communities, each theorizing a date of release. In April 2023, rumours of the new Spyro release were ignited again when @Activision changed their Twitter header to include Spyro the Dragon among their other successful franchise characters.

On 28th September, a Reddit user confirmed that Spyro Mystery of the Dragon announcement trailer will be dropped on 5th October. Fans were excited and sparked conversations in the comments. However, the account has been deleted and this can’t be taken as a confirmed source. The Reddit thread claimed that Nicholas Kole published art on the new game on his website. If you’re unaware who Nicholas Kole is, he was the illustrator for Spyro Reignited Trilogy and several other popular games. You can find the illustrations for Spyro Reignited on his website. Reportedly, the website had released concept art for the new Spyro game. However, this art can no longer be found listed on the website.

Will there be a Spyro 4?

All hope may not be lost for Spyro fans. Players have recently found an unreleased Crash vs. Spyro racing game on Xbox Gamers are eagerly waiting for any official news confirming the release date of Spyro 4. Collected from sources across the web, the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Whether or not the Spyro 4 game will be released in 2023, it’s safe to say the game developers have something planned for Spyro the Dragon.
