AC Mirage Easter Eggs

A big area for Easter Eggs in AC Mirage is other games in the series. You can find a few elements which will reference other games that we’ve played before and their plotlines. These are all of these tie-ins.

Alamut Odyssey Easter Egg

Located in Alamut is a note on a box by a door. It’s a description which ties into an earlier version of the trademark AC weapons, the blade. You’ll find it reads:

“I have enclosed with my letter a recent find; an ancient sketch of a hidden blasé, the very first. You see its title Xerses’s Bane. This was the weapon of Darius. I know not if your famed ancestor ever returned to his beloved Persia after his betrayal, but I thought I would return this etching of his blade to his native shores and to you.”

This one of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Easter Eggs is a note which specifically talking about a character from the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC, which covered this first blade’s story. Perhaps we’ll get something just as interesting for the inevitable AC Mirage DLC?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Easter Eggs – Cats

One area that a lot of players have gotten excited about is the AC Mirage easter eggs of cats! You’ll find cats all over the map which actually have the AC logo as their pattern on their face. This is in reference to a fan’s social media post about their own cat. It’s possible that this easter egg is specifically referencing the one found by a fan on his actual cat.

Even when you’re petting the cats, you’ll get some different messages. One Redditor has gotten the message “Welcome, Kitten one” as a message for petting a cat. This is a nice pun on Hidden Ones and a fun inclusion on the AC Mirage Easter Eggs.

Double Blades

Another reference to some of the weapons used in past AC Mirage is in the Hidden Ones Bureau. This is where you can find contractor quests like the Traitor contractor. However, it’s also home to a note that gives some background on the Assassins. It talks about the origin of adding a second hidden blade and hints at who was the first to use two. It’s a nice hint at the other Assassin’s Creed protagonists who duel wielded.

Other Assassin’s Creed Mirage Easter Eggs

Indiana Jones

One of the AC Mirage easter eggs calling out other bits of media recreates an iconic disguise for Indiana Jones! Some players believe one of the AC Mirage outfits is taking inspiration from the classic series of films. However, it could just be a case of parallel thinking thanks to similar geography and traditional dress. Older AC Games have paid tribute to the same series too.

Lovecraft Easter Egg

Another more literary inclusion in one of the AC Mirage easter eggs is going to appeal to fans of HP Lovecraft. The Assassin’s Creed easter egg comes in the description for a collectable, the Kitab al-Azif. This is what the description says

I do not believe in magic as Nethal does but I find it hard to fathom that this Al-Hazred created this in jest. I am attracted and repulsed by its incantations and dare not speak any of it aloud for fear that the nameless horrors described in its pages will leap out into this world. It is foolish, I know, but there is something about this book that I cannot explain.

Star Wars AC Mirage Easter Eggs

AC Mirage Easter Eggs

In Basim’s dialogue, you’ll find what seems to be a Star Wars easter egg in the game. The character at one point says “This is the way” a religious creed repeated by Mandalorian. Most notably, in the recent hit streaming show the Mandalorian. The entire thing has become something of a shorthand or meme lately too.

Prince of Persia Assassin’s Creed Easter Eggs

The connections between Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed are no secret, owing quite a bit to the older franchise. There are a few references here which pay homage to the PoP series. Particularly a pre-order bonus which seems to be themed around it entirely.

Those are all of the AC Mirage Easter Eggs we’ve found so far. Since a few of these are just in smaller pieces of dialogue though, we definitely haven’t found everything yet. There’ll be a few more secrets lurking in AC Mirage and easter eggs yet to be discovered.
