The International 12 Offlaners – The Interesting Options

Let’s learn additional details about The International 12 offlaners you need to pay close attention to.

You do not have to be an experienced Dota 2 player to know that the offlaner is one of the most important people on your team. Even though this role is often underestimated, having a good offlaner can make a huge difference while playing.  That’s the reason why some of TI12 offlaners we’ll see in just a few days from now will impress us with their results.

There are a few days left until the beginning of Dota 2’s biggest tournament of 2023. After taking a look at the supports, midlaners, and carries, it’s time to pay more attention to The International 12 offlaners. We’ll make sure to cover all of the top-tier heroes we expect to see at the event, but keep in mind there could be small meta changes that could affect the top picks.

Beastmaster

Most of you will probably not be surprised that Beastmaster will be one of TI12 offlaners that we expect to see a lot more often than the rest. This is one of the heroes that’s been a part of the meta throughout 2023. Even though he received a lot of small nerfs in the last couple of patches, he is not going anywhere.

Beastmaster is an amazing hero when it comes down to tempo control. He is excellent at pushing, works well with a lot of carries, can farm the lane and side camps, and has the agility to stun elusive targets. That’s why it is probably not a surprise he was one of the go-to heroes at DreamLeague Season 21.

If we check the stats, we can see that Beastmaster has a 48% win rate at the tournament, which is not that high. However, it is still better than many of the other options you are about to see.

Nature’s Prophet

Even though most Dota 2 teams and players do not use Nature’s Prophet as an offlaner, we’ve seen the hero in this position before. Therefore, we expect him to be one of The International 12 offlaners that will appear more often than the rest.

NP hasn’t been as popular as Beastmaster this year. There were times when teams like BetBoom Team used him in every match, but he received a lot of nerfs. The current state of Furioun is not that good either, but the hero can work in specific situations.

The thing that makes him special is his ability to push and gank when needed. The most recent changes to his Q make him a lot more effective at ganking. As we know, landing an important kill on an enemy core in the laning stage can be enough for the opposite team to gain a small lead. Consequently, heroes like Nature’s Prophet are incredibly important in the professional scene.

Similar to Beastmaster, this hero’s win rate is not that impressive. He showed up in 20 matches and secured a 45% win rate, which is mediocre.

Legion Commander

As we know, Dota 2 is a game where we can see given heroes at pretty much any position. Even though LC support is not that popular, Legion Commander is definitely a hero that can be played as a midder or carry. Nevertheless, the hero is usually in the offlane, which is why we expect her to be one of TI12 offlaners that will show up.

Legion Commander received several interesting buffs in the last couple of years, which is why it’s no surprise she is among the go-to options for many players. Even though the hero isn’t that strong against some of the more aggressive safe lanes, generally speaking, she can lane against everything. Moreover, Legion Commander is the second-best snowballer in the game, so it’s really hard to kill her once she gets a good start.

Sand King

Once again, Sand King is a hero who can also be played as a support. However, some of the best professional Dota 2 players prefer to go to the offlane, where they can farm more and get to level 6 faster. That’s the reason why we think this will be one of the TI12 offlaners that we’ll see more often than the rest.

People who’ve followed the professional Dota 2 scene in the last couple of months probably remember that before 7.34c, Sand King was actually one of the best heroes in the game. His win rate was more than impressive, which was why the hero received several big nerfs.

Although he is not as good as he once was, Sand King continues to dominate the current meta and has more than a 54% win rate in PUB games. Interestingly, he only appeared in 3 games at DreamLeague Season 21, which could indicate that the best Dota 2 teams in the world do not want to reveal their tactics around him.

Centaur Warrunner

There is no arguing that Centaur Warrunner will be one of The International 12 offlaners that we will see more often than the rest. Like Sand King, this hero also received several big buffs in the last few months. In fact, the buff to his stun made him a lot more popular than before and was one of the reasons why he was back in the meta.

Currently, Centaur Warrunner is not overpowered, but he is pretty good in certain setups. The stats from DreamLeague Season 21 show that he played in 10 matches and won 6 of them. This, combined with the 52%+ win rate in PUBs, makes him an exciting option.
