Heroic Bench CadiaN in Surprise Move

Heroic have announced that they have benched their long-time captain Casper “cadiaN” Møller, who had led the side for four years

Casper “cadiaN” Møller, a prominent member of Heroic's competitive esports roster, has officially been transitioned to the bench and is no longer an integral part of Heroic's active lineup. This significant decision was formally disclosed by the organization on an announcement today.

“The mutual decision was made due to differing visions for the future of the team,” the Danish outfit said in their statement. In a recent interview with Dexerto, CadiaN shed additional light on the circumstances surrounding his departure from Heroic, revealing that the decision was rooted in a desire for change and differing perspectives within the team.

“I think they would have made us more competitive in the big tournaments and the big stages and they saw it done in a different way.”

CadiaN has been a steadfast member of the organization since 2019, except for a brief stint with FunPlus Phoenix. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in propelling the previous incarnation of the team to the pinnacle of the global rankings during the pandemic era and lifted the ESL Pro League Season 13 title with the team.

CadiaN: A Heroic Journey to End after Four Years?

CadiaN's dedication and leadership qualities have been central to Heroic's journey, helping the team achieve remarkable success and establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the highly competitive esports landscape. His proficiency as an AWPer, combined with his strategic acumen, made him an essential cog in Heroic's lineup.

Their quest for a coveted title remained unfulfilled, even as they consistently demonstrated their prowess on the big stage. Notable achievements during this period included a remarkable semifinal finish at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and a commendable quarterfinal run at PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
