Dota 2 Patch 7.34d Overview – The Biggest Winners

This is what’s new on the Dota 2 Patch 7.34 d, which will be the patch for The International 12.

Even though we did not expect Valve to release a new patch just days before the beginning of The International 12, the company proved us wrong. Instead of playing on 7.34e, the best teams in the world will compete on patch 7.34d. This makes the event even more interesting, especially for some of the favorites in our The International 12 Power Ranking.

As the name of patch 7.34d suggests, it contains different buffs and nerfs to some items and heroes. This is not a ground-breaking patch by any means, but there are definitely a few important things we need to know. Therefore, it’s time for our Dota 2 patch 7.34 d review, where we will highlight some of the key changes.

Items and Neutral Items update

The Dota 2 7.34d patch addresses a few issues with some regular and neutral items. The things here are minor, but they could affect some heroes. For example, Hand of Midas provides +35 AS instead of +40, whereas Blade Mail gives +18 damage instead of +20.

In terms of the neutral items, Ninja Gear receives the most changes because its cooldown is up from 45s to 60s and losing the team will remove the Solitary Disguise. In other words, players can’t use the item and then swap it for something else and remain invisible in 7.34 d.

Patch 7.34d Overview – Winners

When it comes down to Dota 2 7.34d Patch hero changes, there are a lot of things to talk about. The new patch addresses a lot of heroes one way or another, which means we could expect slight meta changes. With that said, this article will focus on the biggest winners, which means they could be among the go-to options at TI12.

Abaddon

The first hero that receives 3 buffs in the Dota 2 7.34d patch is Abaddon. He has been on the rise lately, which means the new updates will make him even more popular. Speaking of changes, here’s what’s new:

  • His base INT is up from 18 to 19
  • The INT gain is now 1.6 instead of 1.2
  • Aphotic Shield absorbs 10 more damage on all levels (210 on level 4)

The fact that Abaddon will have more INT in 7.34 d means he will have more mana to work with. Therefore, we think he will appear in more games as support.

Anti-Mage

There is no arguing that Anti-Mage is one of those heroes that a lot of professional teams have in their arsenal. Even though he hasn’t been a meta option in some time, it seems like he will be back in the game.

Following the Dota 2 7.34d patch review, it became clear that AM has 2 new updates:

  • Base Armor +1
  • Mana Void costs 50 less mana on Level 2 and 100 less on Level 3

Even though these changes are not enough to make Anti-Mage the go-to option in 7.34 d, it means we can see the hero every now and then. Usually, professional teams rely on him when they are in trouble, but we’ll see what’s going to happen.

Crystal Maiden

CM is a hero that we do not see that much, especially in the last couple of months. Although the 7.34d patch does not change a lot of things, it adds two very important changes to Crystal Clone.

Following the new update, the ability no longer interrupts Crystal Maiden’s channeling. Furthermore, the ability’s cooldown in 7.34 d Dota 2 is down from 12s to 10s, so she will be able to use it more frequently.

Enigma

If you remember, in our article about the heroes at The International that usually make a difference, we’ve added Enigma to the list. Considering that the hero received important buffs in the 7.34d patch, we expect to see it even more often.

Enigma is a hero who relies a lot on the Demonic Summoning, so it’s no surprise that changes to this ability affect it a lot. In the most recent Dota 2 patch 7.34d, the Eidalons receive the following new things:

  • Eidolon Gold Bounty Down by 4 (it’s around 14-20)
  • Mana Cost is down from 75/100/125/150 to 70/80/90/100
  • The Cooldown is Down to 34s on level 4, but what’s impressive is that the CD on level 1 is 40 instead of 60

In other words, Enigma in 7.34 d can use this ability a lot more often than before, and enemies can’t “farm” the Eidolons as much.

Luna

Dota 2 has a lot of scary carries, and Luna is one of them. However, we haven’t seen her in action that much lately, which is why Valve decided to buff her in the Dota 2 7.34d patch. As expected, the changes affect her Moon Glaives as follows:

  • This ability now has a lower damage reduction per bounce, which increases her overall damage output.
  • Aghaim’s Shard Self Damage reduction is up to 25%
  • The buff with an Agh’s Shard now lasts 7s instead of 6s
  • The hero’s Level 15 talent decreases Eclipse’s CD by 30s instead of 25s

Overall, it’s safe to say that Luna in 7.34 d Dota 2 looks really dangerous. She is one of those heroes who can do a lot of damage, so we think we will see her in action at TI 12.

Ogre Magi

There are a few big supports that Dota 2 has to offer, and Ogre Magi is among them. The giant receives several big buffs in the 7.34d Dota 2 patch, so we expect to see him in action more than before.

  • Fireblast has more cast range
  • Bloodlust provides more Attack Speed on allies and more on a self-cast
  • Unrefined Fireblast has more cast range

Overall, Ogre Magi becomes a lot more effective in 7.34 d Dota 2.

Pugna

The last Dota 2 hero that received big buffs in 7.34d is Pugna. After the changes, the hero receives the following:

  • Nether Blast deals 65% damage to buildings instead of 50% in Dota 2 7.34d
  • Decrepify slows down lore on levels 1-3
  • The same ability has more cast range on all levels in the Dota 2 latest patch
