Fnatic’s Valorant roster’s mini has decided to step down from the head coach role “to explore options for a better work-life balance”

Fnatic is the European powerhouse team that won two global Valorant events in 2023 with their victory at LOCK//IN and Masters Tokyo. During this journey, Jacob “mini” Harris played a crucial role for the team as a head coach, and he has recently decided to step down from the position.

Following our VALORANT team’s outstanding achievements during the VCT 2024 campaign, Coach Jacob ‘@minijake_’ Harris has made the personal decision to step down from the Head Coach position.

In the announcement by Fnatic, the organization mentioned that mini’s decision derives from him looking “to explore options for a better work-life balance.” It was also pointed out that the team is in active discussion with mini to have him on a new role in the coaching team, and he may help the roster as an assistant coach or analyst for their next season.

Fnatic Searching for New Head Coach

With coach mini stepping down, Fnatic are in search of a new head coach for the team for their 2024 VCT Season. This will be particularly challenging as mini has been in this position for the team since 2021.

The 29-year-old previously spoke about fatigue after their loss in the EMEA League’s Grand Final against Team Liquid. In reply to ESTNN’s question on the loss after a long streak of wins, mini replied, “We also just took a day off the day before (Grand Final); we’ve never done that before cause we were just so tired, like when you’re going to every event when you’re going deep into events, it’s tiring, and you know, like, the wellbeing of the players comes first sometimes.”
