Dota 2 Patch 7.34c Overview – How It Changes the Meta?

Here is our full Dota 2 Patch 7.34c overview.

Valve surprised us once again because the company decided to release the 7.34c Dota 2 patch just a few days prior to the start of DreamLeague Season 21. Although we expected 7.34b to be The International 12 patch, it seems like this won’t be the case.

In this Dota 2 patch 7.34c review, we will go over some of the most important information you should know. There aren’t any new gameplay changes, but the latest patch addresses a lot of items and heroes. Some of the changes will have a big effect on the meta, so it’s important to learn everything about them.

Items and Neutral Items

The first important thing we want to discuss in this 7.34c overview is the changes related to the items and neutral items. In terms of the regular ones, the only thing that’s new is Solar Cret’s movement speed bonus, which is now 15% instead of 18%. The slight nerf will affect the heroes that used it, but it’s not that drastic, so we expect them to continue to use this item.

In terms of the Neutral Item updates, 4 items received nerfs. Arcan Ring, for example, now provides +8 INT instead of +7, making it less effective for heroes like Storm Spirit. Vambrace also got a small nerf because it gives +2 stats to the non-primary attributes instead of +4. Overall, the changes are not that drastic, so we do not expect any major changes in terms of items.

Hero Changes

Our Dota 2 Patch 7.34c analysis will pay a lot more attention to the hero changes because the new patch focuses more on them. Almost all heroes received some kind of buff or nerf, so we can expect some meta changes. So, let’s go through each one and see what’s new.

Beastmaster

Beastmaster stuns Muerta using Primal Roar

One of the heroes that received nerds in 7.34c is Beastmaster. The popular offlaner will probably remain a solid pick for professional players. However, Call of the Wild Hawk is not as effective as before. This ability costs 50 instead of 30 mana, and the Hawk’s base HP is down to 625 on level 4 instead of 675.

The second nerf to Beastmaster is related to his Drums of Slom, which no longer considers illusion damage amp in terms of healing.

Ember Spirit

Ember Spirit uses Flame Guard to guard himself from magical attacks

The second viral hero right now among professional and casual players is Ember Spirit. Although he will probably continue to be a popular pick, 7.34c nerfs him a little bit. Perhaps the worst thing is his base HP regen, down from 1.25 to 0.5. It may not seem much, but this will have a massive effect on the hero’s early game performance, especially the laning stage.

Aside from that, the new patch also increases the cost of Sleight of Fist to 60 (it was 50). Ember is known for having mana issues, so this is another nerf that will affect how he plays.

Gyrocopter

Gyrocopter

Just when we thought that The International 12 would give us access to a Gyrocopter meta, Valve was quick to nerf the hero. In fact, he received a lot more changes than others, including most of his talents.

Starting with the first thing, 7.34c reduced the hero’s AGI gain from 3.3 to 3.1, making him less effective than before. Homing Missile is also slightly different because it stuns for less than before (2.5s on level 4 instead of 2.6s).

The next nerf is related to Flak Cannon, the ability that makes Gyro incredibly dangerous. Previously, it had an 18s cooldown on all levels, whereas now the CD is the following – 26/24/22/20s. This means Gyrocopter won’t be able to farm that fast early on.

In terms of the talents, there are a few things to know:

  • The level 10 one grants +175 HP instead of +200
  • The level 15 gives +25 Flak Cannon Damage instead of +3 Flak Cannon Attacks
  • The level 20 talent grants +34 Flak Cannon attacks than +40 Flak Cannon Damage
  • The level 25 option gives a +5s CD reduction to Flak Cannon instead of +6s.

Invoker

3 Awesome Dota 2 Laning Trios For Easy MMR

There is no arguing that Invoker was one of the heroes that received a lot of impressive buffs in 7.34. In fact, the hero quickly became one of the best in Dota 2, which required Valve to step in and nerf him. We thought that the nerfing wave was over, but our Dota 2 Patch 7.34c overview revealed that this was not the case.

For starters, Invoker’s Base Health Regen is down from 1.5 to 1, meaning he will have a much harder time during the laning stage.

The next thing that’s new is related to Wex because this ability now gives 0.6% MS per instance instead of 0.8s. Consequently, Invoker will be slower than before.

The hero’s damage is also affected because Tornado now has a 50 base damage instead of 70. It may not seem much, but it will affect the hero’s farming capabilities.

Finally, Invoker’s E.M.P. and its Aghs also received changes in 7.34c. Now, Aghanim’s Shard Pull Linger Duration is 0s instead of 0.5s. Furthermore, the item no longer debuff-immune units after creating the EMP.

Muerta

The last interesting hero we want to discuss in this Dota 2 Patch 7.34c review is Muerta. She hasn’t been the most popular hero lately, so Valve decided to buff her a lot. Following the changes, we wouldn’t be surprised if she becomes one of the go-to carries.

First, Muerta’s Dead Shot now deals more damage on all levels (+25 more), which is really good early on because she will be more effective. The second new thing is the bonus attack damage to Pierce The Veil because the hero will get more on levels 1 and 2. This will increase her mid-game presence.

Lastly, Muerta’s Level15 talent will grant her +350 Dead Shot cast range instead of +250.
